If you have been following along, you know alot of exciting things have been happening. And if you haven't been following along, here is the short version to bring you up to date: Small award winning cheese company buys crazy beautiful farm from two awesome, lifelong dairy farming brothers. Cheesemakers buy an RV, live in the dairy farmers front yard while being mentored by them on proper cow dairying out of the kindness of their hearts (who does that?). Cheesemakers build totally kickass underground cheese caves and new creamery right on the farm and try not to go broke or insane (or both) in the process.
That's the short version, if you want to hear a few more details from owners Jen & Andy Perkins and get the first guided sneak peek into the caves and creamery than this is your chance. Your ticket also includes a private cheese tasting starting at the new creamery with a sample of paired wines. The Cheese tasting starts at 3:15 and GROFest kicks off at 4pm. Tasting limited to 20 participants. The tasting will be led by super passionate cheese ambassador, CCP and LGC retail manager, Sean Stanley. Your tasting ticket also includes a ticket to GROfest which is a music festival in support of local food and farming held right here on the farm starting right after the tasting. Click here to learn more about GROfest and the ticketing options. General Admission or VIP tickets (whichever you choose with your tasting at checkout on our website) will be given to you day of at the event. Join us on May 12th for this one of a kind event followed by an afternoon of music, fun, and a celebration of local food, farming, and farmland preservation. Proceeds form the GROFest ticket sales will go to Growing Rural Opportunities in support of the good work they are doing in Polk County.
